The North Star Reception Center
This emergency reception center, geared specifically for survivors of commercial sexual exploitation, serves as a bridge between initial identification of a person who has been trafficked and their placement in emergency housing.
The North Star Reception Center operates at an undisclosed, centralized, location and allows a survivor who is looking to transition to longer term shelter or housing a safe place to have a warm meal, shower, and receive basic necessities and sleep while our in-house housing-coordination advocate finds next-step options for their journey to safety.
Mission
Safety Compass North Star House is a low-barrier, 24- hour environment where population specific advocates can provide confidential crisis intervention, hospitality, housing placement coordination services, develop new partnerships and collaborations with trauma-informed, trafficking informed service providers, and provide assistance and referrals for essential services to victims of human trafficking.
